Police in Kitgum district are holding two suspects for having a hand in the death of an office attendant attached to Kitgum Matiti town council. They are being held at Kitgum Central Police Station.
Mr. Owani Tonny, a clinic owner in Kitgum Matidi and Ms. Abako Jefula 22, an employee in the clinic reportedly prescribed wrong medication to an asthma patient, Mr. Komakech Charles on Wednesday evening.
Mr. Oketayot Kenneth Aroo, the Kitgum Matidi town council Urban Chairperson III noted that Ms. Abako gave Mr. Komakech wrong medication which worsened his condition. He also noted that Abako is not a qualified medical officer.
ASP Peter Owesigye the Kitgum District Police Commander revealed that the deceased was given Salbutamol which he took on Thursday morning and reacted negatively. He added that he Komakech was later rushed to Kitgum Matidi Health Centre III but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Kitgum District Police boss said the case is being investigated under CRB/08/2024
