38-year-old teacher murdered in Lamwo on Easter Day

A 30-year-old man and a resident of Itiba village in Bunga Parish, Paloga sub-county, Lamwo district, was found dead at his home on Monday, April 21, 2025, immediately after picking a fight with a colleague in a drinking joint.

According to the report published by the Aswa East Regional Police spokesperson, the deceased, Ongala Rober, left his home on the 21^st April 2025 and went to Odida Denis, where the community members had gathered for Easter celebrations.

Ongala Robert joined his colleagues, who have been named as Oringa Denis, Obedi Ben, and Onen Robert. It is also reported that he later had a quarrel with Odida Ben that resulted in a serious fight.

IP Oloya said that Odida allegedly kicked the deceased, and after he was rescued by some of the community members who took him to his home, where he was found dead later on.

IP Joe Oloya said a case of suspected murder by assault was registered at Ploga Police Station, adding that the crime scene was examined and documented

He also added that relevant statements have been recorded and three suspects have been arrested to help the police with the investigation, and the body of the deceased was taken to Padibe HCIV pending postmortem.
