Newly elected leaders of Loko Owere Minakulu boda boda association.

The handover ceremony, which was scheduled for yesterday, failed to take place due to Ojok’s absence.

During the meeting, the bodaboda community raised several concerns regarding Ojok’s leadership. These included turning the office into a petrol storage and sales point, closing the office daily, using force and engaging in fights with fellow bodaboda members, and failing to attend meetings for a year.

Patrick Ocen, the Chairperson of the Minakulu Town Council Boda boda Association, expressed frustration with Ojok’s behavior and called upon security personnel to intervene.

Meanwhile, over 40 boda boda members stated that they had elected new leaders on February 13, 2025, due to Ojok David’s failure to unite the boda boda community and demonstrate accountability.

In his speech, Minakulu Town Council GISO Patrick Mwolo urged bodaboda riders to stand firm, emphasising that no one is above the law.

When contacted for a comment, Ojok David claimed he was still the chairperson and abruptly hung up on the journalist.
