More funds needed for kasese road network to be improved

The Kasese district Chairperson, Mr. Eriphaz Muhindi says he has written to central government about a possibility of increasing the road fund to address poor road network challenges in the district.

Mr. Muhindi addressing the council

Addressing local leaders of Karambi Sub County during his subcounty and town council fact finding and evaluation tour on public funds yesterday, Mr. Muhindi said his request to central government follows several demands for roads works yet their budget was limited.

He also said they were yet to finalize on whether the services of the road gangs were still required or replace them with the district and town council road machinery.

Mr. Muhindi`s comments followed an earlier report by Mr. Paddy Muhindo, the area local council three Chairperson over the poor state of the district roads in the subcounty.

Mr. Muhindi who called for hard work among civil servants, reechoed his earlier threats to deal with corrupt government workers whose actions have frustrated development.

In Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council, the area chairperson, Mr. Selevest Mapoze told the district Boss that the cross Border restrictions had greatly affected local revenue collections, service delivery and the living conditions of the locals.

The Kasese district councilor representing Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council, Hon. Majidu Ntumeli asked the district chairman to consider for construction, the traditional Mpondwe market. END.
