A section of Women with disabilities have expressed their dissatisfaction over what they call temporary suppression of their wishes during the International women’s day celebrations for Kasese district last weekend.

Ms. Bismary Muhindo like some other Women living with disabilities allege that the organizers of the function held at Nyakasanga playground did not bother to schedule for their report, presentation, entertainment to show their empowerment levels.

Bismary who is also a woman with disability requests that with the current advocacy on disability inclusion, they deserve recognition in all aspects and programs. Ms. Bismary speaking………

Ms Dinah Mulhumbira, the chairperson Kasese District Women with Disability said despite the challenges, the last week’s celebrations exposed the women she is proud of for the current levels of empowerment and independence.

She also asked the women with disabilities to use the celebrations to reenergize them for hard work, skills and talent promotion that would see them competitive for public roles. Ms. Dinah speaking………

The celebrations were under the theme “Equal opportunities in Education, science and technology for innovations and gender equal future” END.
