RDC Kasese asks for special slot for PWDs

The Kasese Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Erias Byamungu has asked the Kasese Resident District Commissioner to give a special slot for Persons with disabilities at the regional skilling hub based in Mubuku town council in Kasese district.

In his remarks at a one-day meeting for leaders of persons with disabilities organized by National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda, Mr. Byamungu said under circumstances where about two hundred fifty youth are absorbed by the skills hub every intake, a special slot for PWDs should be established to empower people with special needs.

Mate Magwara, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Bukonzo County pledged total support to PWDs, asking their association to present names in May 2024 of the youth to be enrolled for skilling at the Mubuku based hub in Kasese district.
