One arrested for killing baboon in Kasese

Police in Kyalhumba town council in Kasese District is holding one person over allegations of poaching.

No official comment yet from police, but the chairperson local council three for Kyondo sub-county, Mr. Juvenile Muke confirmed and identified the suspect as one Obote, a resident of Mathembe village in Kaghema parish in Kyalhumba sub-county.

It’s alleged that Obote reportedly killed a baboon with his two friend’s at large while poaching in Mt. Rwenzori National Park two weeks ago, but escaped narrowly, until his arrest this morning after a tip off from concerned residents. Mr. Juvenile speaking…

Juvenile, who hailed Uganda Wildlife Authority-UWA for the 20 percent revenue sharing to administrative units neighboring national parks, warned the public against illegal poaching.
