Kasese Municipal Mayor Chance Kahindo released on police bond

Police has released on bond the Kasese Municipal Mayor His Worship Chance Kahindo and others who were arrested this morning in Bulembia division protesting the decision by the Ministry of Health to withdraw medical supplies to Kilembe Mines Hospital in Kasese district.

Addressing hundreds of local residents at Bulembia Division headquarters shortly after securing Police Bond for His worship Chance Kahindo, Chairperson LC 3 Bulembia Division, Mr. Richard Bomera and others, the District Boss, Mr. Eriphaz Muhindi Bukombi who hailed the Local residents for the Unity exbited, said leaders from Kasese district will write to central government requesting government  to allow Kilembe Mines Hospital receive medicine from National Medical stores not through Joint Medical stores.

His worship Chance Kahindo called for team work among his fellow politicians to ensure government de-activate Kilembe mines hospital for the safety of his electorates.

The Chairperson Local Council three for Bulembia Division, Mr. Richard Bomera said their bond has been extended to January 16th later calling for prayers among their electorates.

Mr. Erisa Muhindo and other residents in greater Kilembe asked Government to look for a lasting solution that will favor the local community in terms of health.

Hon.Florence Kabugho, the Kasese District Woman MP had written to speaker of Parliament and Prime minister for urgent plans to have Kilembe Mines Hospital deactivated.

Earlier, the Kasese District FDC Chairperson, Mr. Saulo Maate condemned police for the arrests saying it was not called for.
