Over 3,000 elderly receive Sage cash in Kasese

Over 3,000 older persons aged 80 years and above in Kasese District have received Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment-SAGE cash, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.

According to Ms. Asiimwe Queengonda, the District focal person in charge of SAGE each beneficiary has pocketed seventy five thousand shillings.

In an interview with this Radio last evening in Kasese town, Ms. Queengonda asked leaders and next of keen to report people who might have died to the community development officers in time, so that their money is processed. Ms. Queengonda on sage….

Ms. Queengonda said the distribution exercise started last week in all sub counties.

She hailed government for releasing 262.5 million shillings saying the money will enable the elderly to afford basic needs and treatment.
