31 year old woman remanded to Mubuku prison over aggravated defilement

Kasese Chief Magistrates Court has remanded a thirty Nine year old woman to Mubuku Government prison until 13th March, 2024 for hearing on charges of aggravated defilement.

Court presided over by her worship Ajok Betty heard that in December, 2023 while at Kyanzuki trading Centre in Bulembia Division, Kasese Municipality, the accused, Ms.Jovia Ngondi allegedly defiled a 15 year old minor in her rented room.

The Resident state attorney for Kasese District Counsel Godfrey Oundo asked Court to give time to the case since the mother to the victim who is his first witness was not prepared for defense.

The lawyer representing the accused Counsel Luke Kanyonyi had asked court to dismiss the case on grounds that ever since the accused was arrested there has been no complainant who has shown up in court, but after his submission the victim’s mother Ms. Jozonia Mbambu raised her hands asking court for fair justice, saying she could have nearly lost the case due to lack of transport.
