Kitara seek to complete Double over UPDF.

Kitara FC will be seeking to complete a double over UPDF FC when the two sides face off in the Uganda Premier league contest at Bombo Military Grounds.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men won the first leg meeting 4-0 at Royal Park Butema.

The Royals have won all three of their previous league meetings with UPDF.

In the last five matches, Kitara have managed four wins and drawn the other scoring 18 goals with five clean sheets.

” This is the final and most important round of the league and we are aware each team has a target to accomplish. While ours is to finish among the top four, our opponents will not make it easy for us but we are determined for the challenge, ” Bbosa said.

” They started well and they are one of the stubborn sides in the league, that means we have to be better than we did in the first round.  Good enough we have utilized this break so well, worked on our mentality, among other gray areas and we hope to have good results,” he added.

Bbosa’s charges are currently 7th on the Uganda Premier league table with 21 points in 15 matches.

UPDF FC on the other hand finished the first round on a low note suffering winning just once in their previous five games, losing three and a draw.

In fact they lost their previous three matches and will be seeking to end the poor run at Kitara.

Under the stewardship of Paul Kiwanuka, the Army side are currently 11th on the table with 17 points.

Should the Royals defeat UPDF this evening they will move to 24 points and overtake BUL FC in sixth place on the table standings.

Team News

Aggrey Kirya, Shakib Mayanja and Henry Penza are ruled out for the Army side.

The visitors will begin life without Denis Omedi who joined APR in January while new signing Amos Etoju is expected to make his debut.Head to Head
