Locals gather to witness the aftermath of the livestock tragedy.

More than five livestock businessmen lost over 40 goats and five cattle on their way from Kwania district to Arua market after a Fuso truck, registration number UBB 717Y, overturned at Kamdini town council along the Gulu-Kamdini-Kampala highway at around 14:00 hrs.

Speaking to our reporter, Jaspher Obura, one of the businessmen from Kwania district, who lost seven goats worth over 800,000 Uganda shillings, confirmed the incident and narrated the cause of the accident.

Amos Ebong, an eyewitness and a tailor whose workshop is located opposite Hotel One, stated that the vehicle had been parked while the passengers went to the hotel for lunch. Unfortunately, the truck rolled and overturned upon reaching the roadside drainage channel.

Attempts to get a comment from Regional Traffic Officer Mathias Mulumba Okwir were unsuccessful, as his known phone number was unreachable at the time of reporting.
