A wave of joy and celebration swept through Barowoo Chapel following the heartfelt donation of 50 bags of cement by Dr Eunice Apio Otuku. St Augustine Chapel in Ogwang Apur B, Acaba subcounty, also benefited with 70 iron sheets as part of this generous and transformative initiative.

Thousands of christians turned out in great excitement to witness the long-awaited delivery—an event many had been eagerly anticipating.

Representing Dr Apio during the ceremony, Milton Ojok Elwa—currently vying for District Councillor on the UPC ticket—highlighted that the donations reflect Dr Apio’s development-centered manifesto, now being realised. He emphasised that the initiative was not politically driven, describing Dr Apio as a trusted and servant-hearted leader. Ojok called upon residents of Oyam North to rally behind her and form support groups to promote further progress through her office.

At St Augustine Chapel, Jolly Joe Atime reiterated that the gesture was purely humanitarian. He urged church leaders to make the best use of the materials and encouraged patience among other chapels in Ogwang Apur who await similar support.

Meanwhile, Ambrose Babrah Egwali, catechist of Barowoo Chapel, applauded Dr Apio’s ongoing generosity—recalling a previous donation of 160 iron sheets and now the additional 50 bags of cement. He encouraged other political figures to follow her example and lend a hand to the chapel, which remains in poor condition.

Haldo Rose Odul, chairman of the laity at Barowoo Chapel, expressed deep gratitude for Dr Apio’s unwavering support and pointed out outstanding challenges such as plastering the church interior. He called on other aspirants to emulate Dr Apio’s inclusive and development-oriented leadership.

Church members, including Herin Obia and Crujestom Okello, voiced heartfelt appreciation for Dr Apio’s tangible contributions, particularly those benefiting the children of Barowoo Chapel. From the initial 160 iron sheets to the recent donation of cement, they affirmed that Dr Apio’s efforts are actively transforming their worship spaces and uplifting the spirit of the community.
