In a powerful act of leadership and compassion, Hon. Geoffrey Owili—aspiring Member of Parliament for Oyam South—has transformed lives in Omolo Ward, Minakulu town council, by repairing a long-abandoned borehole. This vital intervention has ended years of reliance on unsafe akong (open well) water and brought clean, safe water back to the heart of the community.

For years, residents of Omolo Ward endured the daily struggle of fetching water from contaminated sources, exposing families to waterborne diseases and hardship. Despite repeated pleas, their cries for help went unanswered—until Hon. Owili stepped in with decisive action.

Today, the once-forgotten borehole gushes with clean water, thanks to Hon. Owili’s hands-on leadership. Women and children no longer walk long distances or wait hours at unreliable sources. The repair has not only improved health outcomes but also restored dignity, hope, and a sense of security to the community.

“Water is life. No one should have to choose between thirst and disease,” Hon. Owili stated during the borehole restoration.

This initiative is part of Hon. Owili’s broader commitment to improving water access across Oyam South. His leadership has been instrumental in supporting community-driven water projects and advocating for sustainable infrastructure that uplifts rural populations.

The reopening of the borehole was met with jubilation. Local leaders praised Hon. Owili’s proactive approach, and residents described the repair as “a miracle in our backyard.”

Speaking to our reporter Samuel Ojok, residents of Arak East village expressed heartfelt gratitude. They credited Hon. Owili for rescuing them from the dangers of drinking swampy, contaminated water, describing him as “a true leader who cares deeply for his people.”

“We call on the people of Oyam South to vote for Hon. Owili. He is a man of action—not like other politicians who come with empty promises claiming to be sent by the government,” said one resident.

Secondina Ajok, another community member, shared her testimony:

“We used to struggle for water alongside animals. It was like we had no leader. The broken borehole brought us disease, domestic violence, and despair. But Hon. Owili has changed everything.”

Geoffrey owili turned the life of Arak East residents from surviving in contaminated water.

Hon. Owili’s success in Omolo ward stands as a shining example for other districts grappling with water scarcity. His message is clear: with political will, community engagement, and a heart for service, even the most neglected infrastructure can be revived to serve the people.

As the 2026 elections approach, Hon. Geoffrey Owili continues to prove that leadership is not about promises—it’s about action. His commitment to clean water, health, and dignity for all makes him a beacon of hope for Oyam South.
