In a dazzling display of grace, intellect, and purpose, Akot Gillians Tracy, a 22-year-old from Kole District, has emerged as one of the standout contestants in the ongoing Miss Uganda 2025 pageant. Representing the Northern Region, Akot is among the 25 finalists vying for the coveted crown in a competition that celebrates beauty, leadership, and social impact.
A proud Lango by tribe, Akot holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from Kyambogo University, where she was known for her academic excellence and passion for community development. Her journey to the national stage is rooted in a deep commitment to empowering young girls, particularly through her project focused on promoting girls’ education via menstrual hygiene campaigns.
With hobbies that include journaling, traveling, and cooking, Akot brings a well-rounded personality to the competition. She cites the late Imat Atim Cecilia Ogwal as her role model, drawing inspiration from the veteran politician’s legacy of advocacy and resilience.
Akot recently secured the first runner-up position in the Northern Region finals, a testament to her poise and leadership. Her growing popularity is evident, with over 4,600 votes already cast in her favor on the official Miss Uganda platform.
As the countdown to the grand finale continues, Akot’s supporters across Uganda and beyond are rallying behind her, celebrating not just her beauty but her vision for a more inclusive and empowered future for Ugandan girls.
