Loro businessman is on spot over allegations of encroaching into wetland

This follows a complains raised by residents of Boroboro village in Pukica Parish Kamdini Sub County in Oyam district where they accused a businessman only identified as Okullu Ocere who reportedly encroached in about 40 hectares of wetland in Bar Community Grazing Land.

According to these locals this prompted them to report the matter to Resident District Commissioner of Oyam District who immediately suspended all activities in this wetland but Okullu defied this directive and continued cultivating this wetland.

Nommy Otieno the Kamdini Sub county LC5 Councilor who also doubles as Speaker of Oyam District however in one of the meetings held with that community threated to foot up to President’s office if encroachment into this wetland continues.

An attempt to get a comment from Okullu Ocere who is the accused businessman did not materialized during press time because his known telephone number was not available.
