Police in Agago district are investigating the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in Mora West Village, Paimol Sub County in Agago district. Ociti John Bosco, 25, a resident of Mora East village was shot on Saturday night by gunmen suspected to be Karimojong warriors.
According to IP Oloya Joe, the acting Aswa East Region Police Spokesperson, three warriors armed with one gun stormed the residence of Octiti’s neighbor who was identified as Oyet Reagan at around 9 PM on Saturday demanding money and a phone and ordered him to take them to a nearby army barracks.
Oloya narrated that when Ociti tried to draw closer and ascertain what was happening at Oyet’s home, he realized that they were Karamojong warriors. He added that when Ociti started running back to his home, he was shot from the back and the bullet came out through his mouth.
According to IP Oloya, the suspects made away with a TECNO phone with an MTN line registered in the name of Okema Kenneth.
He said a case of murder by shooting was registered at Laimutto police station and the body was handed over to relatives for burial after a postmortem was conducted at the scene.
He noted investigations have commenced with the recording of statements from relevant witnesses adding that the robbed phone will be subjected to tracking to establish the identities of the suspects.
IP Oloya urged members of the public to remain calm and help police with any information that can bring the suspects to justice.
