After twelve years of supporting pastors and Sunday school teachers in carrying out God’s ministry, Call to Serve Ministry – Bajere Branch, through the Christian Motorcycle Association and Missionary Venture (Rex and Malinda), on Sunday, 12th October 2025, supported six churches with motorcycles to ease transportation in the work of God.
In addition to the motorcycles, the ministry also donated 23 bicycles to Sunday school and Kids’ Club teachers to help them reach children and communities more effectively.
The handover ceremony was held at Call to Serve Ministry, Bajere Branch, where the six motorcycles were presented to: Faith Mission of Uganda, Kitgum, Christian Community Church, Kitgum, Divine Water Ministries, Called to Serve Ministry, Baptist Church, The Diocese of Kitgum (covering Moroto and Mityana Districts)
Rex, the Director of Called to Serve Ministry, noted that the ministry has so far donated over 200 motorcycles to pastors across different regions and remains committed to supporting more, even as far as South Sudan and other countries.
He cautioned that any misuse of the donated motorcycles should be reported to church authorities, emphasizing that these motorcycles are meant to transform the lives of Christians, especially in hard-to-reach areas — aiding pastors in visiting believers and helping during times of sickness.
Pastor Okumu Ronald appreciated the donation, saying that the motorcycles and bicycles, worth UGX 72 million, will help pastors and church leaders reach Christians more easily, especially in difficult times, and continue spreading the word of God. He added that Call to Serve Ministry will continue supporting more pastors who still struggle with transport challenges and often find it hard to get money for ministry work.
Pastor Odwong Thomas, in charge of Lalwal Bible Church, who began his ministry in 2002, expressed gratitude to call to Serve Ministry for supporting church leaders with transport. He shared that he had been using a bicycle and sometimes hiring boda bodas, which was costly, but now he can visit Christians freely and at any time.
Mr. Otim Benard, a church leader at Faith Mission, Kitgum, also appreciated Call to Serve Ministry for their generosity and pledged to use the motorcycle for its intended purpose — to spread God’s word and reach more Christians.
Apoto Josephine Opira, the women’s leader at Call to Serve Ministry, said walking long distances daily to visit other women had been challenging. With the support of a bicycle, she can now ride to different places to share the word of God with fellow women. She also mentioned that she will use the bicycle to visit and support women experiencing gender-based violence, helping to find peaceful solutions.
