The incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Kitgum District and Minister, Hon. Dr. Lilian Aber, was today duly nominated to contest for the same position in the upcoming general elections.
During her nomination, Dr. Aber reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to continue advocating for special interest groups, including women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the youth. She emphasized her dedication to empowering farmers and strengthening the health sector in Kitgum District and across the broader Northern Uganda region.
Dr. Aber underscored the urgent need to improve infrastructure development, particularly rural road networks, to enable farmers to easily access markets and boost agricultural productivity. She pledged to use her position to address existing gaps in infrastructure and promote inclusive economic growth throughout Northern Uganda.
The Minister also highlighted her plan to empower farmers through financial literacy training and support programs that enhance the quality of agricultural produce. Additionally, she promised to continue engaging the government to ensure that the Kidepo National Game Park is properly fenced, in order to prevent elephants from invading people’s gardens and causing loss of lives and crops.
