The Kitgum District Chairperson-elect, Hon. Toolit Tonny Blair, has thanked the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) for mentoring him and shaping him into a better leader, despite winning the seat on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
Hon. Tonny made the remarks in an interview with Tembo FM shortly after the Kitgum District Returning Officer, Ms Betty Atim Owot, officially declared him the winner of the district chairperson race.
According to the final results, Hon. Toolit Tonny Blair polled 29,612 votes, defeating the incumbent Democratic Party (DP) candidate, Mr Arwai Christopher Obol, who garnered 9,214 votes, while Mr Lebeja Bob William came third with 3,183 votes.

Hon. Tonny said his key priorities will include promoting education, improving medical services, and ensuring equitable service delivery across the district.
He called on the people of Kitgum District to support his leadership, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved through cooperation between the government and citizens.
