Preparations at the local level are intensifying in Kitgum and Mucwini as communities ready themselves to receive more than 400 pilgrims trekking for the St Janani Luwum commemoration.

The Local Organising Committee says cultural groups are rehearsing traditional dances, including Bwola, to welcome the pilgrims on arrival. Local committees are also coordinating sanitation, accommodation, and security as thousands of visitors are expected for the annual event.

Program head and acting Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Okot P’Bitek, says preachers have already been deployed across archdeaconries while volunteers continue preparations along the route.
