UEDCL Technicians involved in road accident, one Dies

A technician attached to the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company in Kitgum has died following a road accident in Lapul Sub-county, Pader district.

Denis Kibwota, popularly known as Boy and a resident of Pajule, passed away on Wednesday morning at Kitgum General Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a crash on Tuesday evening along the Lanyatido–Koyo Lalogi road near Abunga West village.

The accident happened as a UEDCL team was returning from installing a transformer in Koyo Lalogi trading center, in Lapul Sub-County.

Joel Lakong, the manager of UEDCL Kitgum sub-station, says the deceased was a part-time technician based in Pajule. He confirmed the company is working with the police and family on burial arrangements.

Lakong added that other staff injured in the crash are in stable condition and receiving treatment.
