The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Pader has scheduled March 2nd for a taxation hearing in a post-election legal dispute involving the Aruu Constituency parliamentary race.
The case was filed by independent candidate Samuel Odonga Otto, who sought a vote recount under the Parliamentary Elections Act, Cap 177against Aruu MP Christopher Komakech, the Electoral Commission, and the Pader District Returning Officer.
However, the court dismissed the application after finding that ballot boxes had been tampered with, compromising the integrity of the electoral materials.
The matter has now shifted to determining legal costs, with the court warning that taxation will proceed even if parties fail to appear.
The hearing is expected to decide how much the unsuccessful applicant will pay, marking another step in the Aruu election dispute.
