Mpigi security committee assures adequate security for upcoming local council elections

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Mpigi District, Oweek. Nannono Sarah Kaweesi, today chaired a Special District Security meeting at the Mpigi District Headquarters to finalise security preparations for the forthcoming Local Council I & II, Village and Parish Women Council elections.

The meeting was attended by the District Police Commander (DPC), Officers-in-Charge of Police Stations, Criminal Investigations Department (CID), District Internal Security Officer (DISO), Gombolola Internal Security Officers (GISOs), Criminal Intelligence Officers, the Deputy RDC, and Assistant Resident District Commissioners (ARDCs).

The District Security Committee has assured all residents of Mpigi District of adequate security before, during, and after the election period, and urged the public to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and participate freely in the electoral process.
