Rev. Deacon Peter Otim, the curate of St. Peter’s Church Anyeke in Oyam Urban Archdeaconry delivered a powerful message during this morning’s service, urging Christians not to abandon their faith in Jesus Christ if they wish to achieve success in life.
Otim emphasized that success does not come easily and that believers must endure numerous challenges along their journey. He encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Elisha, who requested a double portion of Elijah’s prophetic power and anointing.
Elijah assured him that this blessing would be granted if Elisha witnessed his ascent to heaven.
During the sermon, Otim also prayed for Christians to receive divine strength in areas such as forgiveness, healing, job opportunities, and other aspects of their lives.
In conclusion, he offered prayers for the late Stallon Olong, a prominent businessman in Oyam Town Council who passed away last week following a brief illness at Anyeke Health Centre IV.
Otim acknowledged and appreciated Olong’s contributions to St. Peter’s Church Anyeke and various communities in Lango.
Daniel Egoo, commonly known as Daniel Oyat Obong, a Christian of St. Peter’s Church Anyeke and a journalist at Shine FM Oyam commented that Rev. Peter Otim’s sermon was truly impactful.
He emphasized that achieving success in life requires overcoming various temptations. Egoo urged the Christians of Oyam to seek God’s presence in all their endeavors, especially political leaders who share their faith, so that the Lord may grant them success and double power on their journey.
