NRM Oyam Chairperson Dismisses Other Contenders, Citing Acilo’s Superior Funding

During remarks at Oyam Boma Ground yesterday, the NRM Chairperson for Oyam District—flanked by Owira Emmanuel Elvis (Aber Sub-county), Bonny Amoki (Oyam Town Council), Okullu Jerad (Minakulu Sub-county), Tonny Otyek Acaba Sub-County and Otim Joseph (Kamdini)—publicly announced support for Jane Francise Acilo, asserting that she possesses the financial capacity to run a successful campaign, unlike her competitors. He urged NRM delegates to back Acilo, emphasizing that only she could afford to fully bankroll campaign activities

Francise Odongo Alii, Acilo’s chief campaign manager, confirmed that she has been duly nominated and emphasized the importance of choosing strong candidates with financial strength, stating, “This time NRM will not vote for weak candidates who have no money to feed voters and support the chairperson’s campaign.”

Susan Nyana Olal, the LC5 female councillor for Acaba Sub-County and a prominent Acilo supporter, criticized fellow aspirant Stella Anyango. She noted that although she once worked with Anyango, she shifted allegiance upon realizing Acilo had the resources and influence to lead and win.

Maxwell Edwok, a key strategist in Acilo’s team, called on attendees to discourage those who criticize the NRM, declaring that Acilo’s victory is inevitable regardless of opposition.

In her address, Jane Francise Acilo, aspirant for Woman MP for Oyam South, acknowledged the challenges of changing leadership in the district. She called for patience and hard work from the NRM fraternity, stating that transformation will take time but is achievable through commitment.
