In a vibrant ceremony held in Anyeke East Village, Acaba Sub county, thirty individuals were awarded certificates by the Uganda Change Agent Association after successfully completing a one-month intensive training in self-reliance. The training covered a wide range of transformative topics, including communication, poverty analysis, development theory, group formation, and gender awareness.

During the event, the Executive Director of the Uganda Change Agent Association, Lucy Akello Ayena, urged the newly certified change agents not to treat their certificates as mere decorations for their homes. She challenged them to become catalysts for development and transformation within their communities, emphasising that the certificate should serve as a tool for action, not a souvenir. She reminded participants to uphold the values and knowledge gained throughout the training.

Among the graduates was Apostle Ahimbisibwe Innocent Mark, a pastor from End Time Message Church in Oyam District. He praised the training for broadening his understanding of diverse perspectives and pledged to share the insights with his congregation. He said the Change Agent training had opened his eyes to the realities people face and committed to training his church members so they remain informed and empowered. He also urged fellow religious leaders to embrace similar opportunities for the benefit of their congregations.

Mzee Vitorino Milly Angulo, aged seventy-three, received his certificate with pride. He testified that the training had reignited his passion for learning and equipped him with practical tools to combat poverty. He said the programme reminded him of many things while teaching him even more, and he intends to use the knowledge to fight poverty and educate his grandchildren.

With these thirty newly certified change agents, Acaba Sub county stands on the brink of grassroots transformation. Their commitment to applying the training in real-life settings promises a ripple effect of empowerment, unity, and sustainable development across the region.
