Kitgum District Receives Second Cycle of Essential Drugs

Kitgum District, through the Ministry of Health and the National Medical Stores (NMS), on Wednesday received the second quarter supply of essential drugs.

The consignment will be distributed to all lower health facilities, including Health Centre IIs, IIIs, and IVs, with deliveries commencing on Thursday.

Mr. Thomas Ojok, the Administrator of Kitgum General Hospital, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health and NMS for the timely delivery, noting that the supplies will help address the ongoing drug shortages in some health facilities, including Kitgum Government Hospital.

He further explained that, at times, hospitals do not receive all the drugs they request due to limited stock or unavailability at the medical stores.

Mr. Ojok assured patients that the drugs will be readily available at the various facilities across the district.
