As the NRM campaign in Oyam South concludes today, fear has gripped the family of Nommy Otyeno, who has reportedly not slept at his Kamdini home for four days due to alleged plans by some of his colleagues to harm him.

Speaking to our reporter, Otyeno expressed deep concern for his safety, revealing that unknown individuals have been seeking to harm him. He claims the threats have forced him to abandon his residence and seek shelter elsewhere.

According to Otyeno, those allegedly planning the attack are close to him politically, although he maintains he is not in conflict with any of the parliamentary contestants in Oyam South.

Ahead of the joint campaign event scheduled in Kamdini Sub-county and Town Council, Otyeno voiced fears of an organized gang reportedly mobilized by one of his colleagues, a fellow MP aspirant. He believes the group intends to disrupt his speech by shouting him down, fearing his rising popularity among voters.

Otyeno also dismissed rumors circulating among voters that he remains a member of UPC, clarifying that he holds affection for everyone regardless of political affiliation. He denounced claims that Amongi Betty Akene recently donated UGX 900 million to him, labeling such talk as baseless propaganda. He called upon his supporters to remain firm and disregard the misinformation spread by rival politicians.
