Victoria University Kampala Vice Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Muganga, has won the prestigious 2025 Global Impact Award at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto, Canada. The Excellence Award recognizes his outstanding contributions to transforming global education.
According to Victoria University, Prof. Muganga has spearheaded groundbreaking innovations, bold reforms, and people-centered educational policies. “Beyond universities, he continues to advise nations on shifting to education that matters — practical, skills-driven, and powered by AI and emerging technologies. This award is more than personal recognition; it’s a celebration of Ugandan excellence on the world stage. Congratulations, Professor, your leadership continues to inspire a generation of thinkers, doers, and changemakers,” the university posted on social media.
In his response, Prof. Muganga credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the university. “I am deeply honored and truly humbled to receive the 2025 Global Impact Award from Afroglobal Television in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This recognition is not only a personal milestone but also a celebration of our collective efforts at Victoria University to use education as a force for transformation and a tool to shape the future of our continent,” he wrote on his official handle.
He also expressed gratitude to his children, Wonder Muganga and Nelissa Ingabire Muganga, for representing him at the awards ceremony. “Seeing them stand tall at such a global stage and embrace this moment with such confidence fills me with great joy. I could not have asked for a better experience,” he added.
Victoria University is known for its innovative teaching methods, particularly its integration of AI into education.
