All set for the 30th Uganda International Trade Fair

The chairman, communications, marketing and events committee for the 30th Uganda International Trade Fair by Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), Eddy Sengo, in media briefing concerning the trade fair at Lugogo show grounds in Kampala, has confirmed that everything is ready for the historical event to start from on 2nd to 10th October 2024.
“We hope members of the public are excited as we are since a lot of work has been put into this event over the last few months and indeed we assure great experience to those who will come” he said.
The Chairman narrated that as a home of manufacturing in Uganda they shall on 2nd of October have a so many goods and services at lower prices available to be given away in celebrations of the 30 years of the international trade fair. “We have an exciting women’s pavilion that is delegated and designed to increase the percentage of women in manufacturing. At the moment men make about 92% of registered manufacturers at UMA and we want this status to change” he explained.
It should be remembered that each year UMA organizes such events under a desired theme and this year’s them is “Celebrating 30 years of Industrial Excellence” According to the Chairman of Uganda Manufacturers Association, Mr Deo Kayemba, while addressing the media at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala days ago, he said that, over the past three decades, the Uganda International Trade Fair has been a cornerstone of industrial growth, economic development, and international collaboration. ” Since it’s inception, the fair has expanded from a modest exhibition to East Africa’s premier business development platform, attracting over 1,360 exhibitors from across the globe, including countries like China, Egypt, India, Kenya, South Africa, Turkey, the UAE, and many more” he said.
According to the Chairman, organizing committee, UMA is partnering with Naguru and Victoria hospital to give medical attention to those who will need it. Students who will attend the trade fair have been reminded to remain in their full school uniforms for easy identification and they should be accompanied by their teachers with their identity cards. Other young people who are interested in attending the trade fair have been advised to come with their parents. This category will leave the grounds at 4:00 PM. Over 3000 people are expected and 28 exhibitors from outside Uganda will also showcase their products and services. The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni is expected to officiate to this event on 4th, October 2024 according to the chairman.
Speaking at the same press briefing, the spokesperson for Uganda Police in Kampala etropolitan area, Patrick Onyango said that they are ready to protect whoever will attend the trade fair with their goods. “As security, we’re ready. We have done all the threat assessment in connection to this event and we have also made proper counter measures. At the check points there are some liquids or substances that we will not allow you to enter with. We have deployed enough security outside and inside the venue. Let’s work together for a successful trade fair” he said. There will be specific parking lots for different people including visitors. People have been advised to follow the traffic rules. The entertainment side will be graced by various comedians and artists.
