As Primary Seven candidates prepare for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which begin next week following a briefing on Friday, The Windsor School in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, has dedicated its candidates to God in prayer.

The dedication ceremony, held today, was led by Rev. Canon Kabanda, who encouraged the candidates not to fear but to trust in God for guidance and success.

“You cannot do anything without God’s help. You therefore need to know that we have a helper, who is God Almighty. When the supervisors come, you will have 100 marks. When you start writing, you will be deducting from your 100 marks. We are here to ask God to help you not to lose many marks,” he preached.

Rev. Canon Kabanda also reminded the candidates that the time had come for them to reap what they had sown, referring to Galatians 6:7, which says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

He thanked parents for fulfilling their responsibility to educate their children and commended the school’s board of directors for providing the necessary administrative support.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Wilford Kirungi, thanked the clergy for leading the dedication prayers. He said this year’s candidates had received a double portion of dedication, which he believes has prepared them well for the examinations.

“We have over 50 candidates. They have been prepared very well, and we believe they are going to perform well. This is a school everyone should give a try. As our motto says, ‘Building Brilliant Minds with a Bright Future.’ That is what our teachers do from January to December,” he said.

The Primary Seven class teacher, Ofwono James, speaking on behalf of the P7 teaching staff, encouraged the candidates to remain confident and put their trust in God.

“Candidates, we have not prepared you to compete among yourselves but with the rest of the country. There is no correction for PLE. Parents, continue praying for these candidates,” he said.

The candidates’ representative, Kansiime Blessings Amooti, thanked the teachers for guiding them since they joined the school. She expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills they had acquired would help them perform well.

“We thank our teachers and parents for the support rendered to us. We promise not to disappoint you. To the fellow candidates, stay focused and listen to your teachers,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of the Primary Seven parents, Mummy Manuela advised the candidates to avoid examination malpractice, assuring them that their parents would continue praying for them.

She also thanked the school administration for its patience and support throughout the period the candidates had been at the school.

The Primary Leaving Examinations are an important milestone for Primary Seven learners as they complete their primary education and prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.
