Senior Four candidates across the country have today been briefed by school heads and other responsible persons on how they should conduct themselves during the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations, which officially begin next week.

At Kyadondo Secondary School in Wakiso District, Headteacher Hajji Ismael Warigo assured more than 400 candidates that they are well prepared for the examinations.

Warigo said the school has completed the syllabus in time, giving candidates enough opportunity to revise.

He urged the candidates not to fear the examinations, saying teachers have played their part in preparing them.

Warigo also reminded candidates to clear any outstanding school fees and disciplinary issues before the examinations begin on Monday.

He warned candidates against taking mobile phones into the examination room and said the school would not tolerate examination malpractice.

Warigo also reminded candidates to follow examination rules, including maintaining silence and seeking permission from invigilators whenever they need to leave the examination room.

He said two candidates with disabilities at the school will be given an additional 45 minutes as provided for under examination guidelines.

Meanwhile, heads of schools in other parts of the country said they had successfully briefed their candidates and expressed confidence in their performance.

Jackie Ashaba, Headteacher of St Florence Secondary School in Namungoona, Kampala, urged UNEB to ensure examination materials are delivered to centres on time.

Ashaba said delays in receiving examination materials, especially in some rural areas, can affect the time available to candidates.

She said teachers have done their part in preparing the candidates and urged them to remain focused during the examinations.

Candidates also thanked their parents, teachers and other people who have supported them throughout their education and promised to perform well.

The 2026 Uganda Certificate of Education examinations are scheduled to run from October 12 to November 3, 2026.
