The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened opportunities for individuals and companies in Uganda and across Africa who wish to provide various services during the forthcoming 2027 PAMOJA Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Speaking to journalists in Kampala, the Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee Communications and Signage Subcommittee, Dr. Dennis Mugimba, explained the requirements for individuals and companies interested in applying for the opportunities through the official CAF website.
Dr. Mugimba said CAF has issued a Request for Information inviting potential service providers from across Africa to be included in CAF’s database of prospective suppliers ahead of the 2027 tournament tenders.
He explained that the information required from applicants includes supplier identity, legal status, physical and postal address, and corporate website, among other details. He added that prospective suppliers may execute services not only during the PAMOJA AFCON tournament but also in other African countries, Europe, America, or Asia.
According to Dr. Mugimba, the services CAF is seeking prospective suppliers for include catering services, ticketing solutions, equipment and related services, transaction services, digital services, hotels and accommodation, hospitality programmes, transportation and logistics, event operations, fan zone management, IT and technology solutions, branding, printing and signage, concession management services, as well as equipment and general supplies.
He, however, emphasized the importance of having a functional website and clarified that the Local Organising Committee cannot apply on behalf of anyone. He also stressed that the application process is free of charge and does not involve any middlemen.
Regarding preparations for Africa’s biggest football tournament, Dr. Mugimba said the Local Organising Committee, together with relevant government departments and under CAF guidance, is continuing with the necessary preparations ahead of the December 31, 2026 deadline.
He revealed that the tournament will require about 221 vehicles and encouraged businesses to apply for related opportunities. He also noted that renovation works are ongoing at Mandela National Stadium Namboole and Akii Bua Stadium, alongside improvements at various training facilities.
On accommodation, he explained that hotel owners are mainly renovating existing facilities rather than constructing new hotels.
Dr. Mugimba thanked the Government of Uganda for the continued support towards preparations, adding that all activities are being undertaken in close coordination with CAF. He further noted that road infrastructure upgrades are ongoing and that the railway transport system will also be utilised during the tournament.
