The vice president Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo joined hundreds of mourners in Kamuzinda, Kyanamukaka, Masaka district to see off the soul of the late Jane Frances Zalwango Musubire. The late Zalwango was the wife to Mr. Vincent Musubire, the Deputy Principal Private Secretary (DPPS) to the Office of the Vice President.
Alupo said when she was appointed to the office of the vice president, she found a number of staff who, among others, included Musubire. “Since then, Mr. Musubire has continued to work very professionally, ethically, and expeditiously in implementing programs in the OVP. I want to thank you for being a dedicated public servant.” Alupo said.

According to Alupo, Musubire has guided her on how to handle programs in the OVP. “As I speak, he is the closest civil servant to me without any doubt. He moves with me to handle government work without any complaints.” said the vice president.
She said Musubire does his work in a simple but very accurate way, and on many occasions, she has found him talking to junior staff in the office. She urged the staff to continue listening to his advice. “He always tells them not to hurry with life and that if God wants to offer them a good house, He will definitely do so, and that they should follow God’s pace.” she said.
She asked mourners to always seek the kingdom of God first, as the rest will follow, adding that, that’s always the teaching of Musubire to his junior staff.
The vice president noted that Musubire has always reminded her to put God in all the activities in the office. “Apparently he didn’t tell me that his wife was unwell. That’s the simplicity with which he was handling things in the office.” Alupo said.

She further applauded Musubire for being corruption free, adding that his name has never been featured in any corruption in his entire career.
“He does not discriminate. He works with everyone regardless of gender, tribe, religion, and has taught me to follow in his footsteps.” Alupo added. However, she thanked President Yoweri Museveni for intervening when Mr. Musubire’s wife was not well but also after her demise. Museveni provided for all the burial expenses. She lauded the head of public service and secretary to cabinet Ruth Nakyobe, who was among the mourners, for always helping politicians to do work according to policy.

Alupo went on to express that the deceased asked her to maintain being very simple, intelligent, and corruption free.
In addition, the vice president thanked civil servants who were present at burial for the work they do for government. They included state House staff, former vice president Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, minister for ethics and integrity Rose Lilly Akello, the clergy, politicians, among others.
She assured the civil servants of protection and a conducive environment to ensure they performed their roles and duties as assigned.
She called for total commitment to ensure delivery of quality services to Ugandan citizens, especially PDM, Emyooga, women, youth and disability funds.
As a government, she also pledged to continue working with the institution of the church to extend services to the people like education and health.

The vice president concluded by calling upon mourners to honour the memory of the late Zalwango by continuing to embody the values she cherished. They included loving unconditionally, giving generously, and embracing life with the same grace and warmth that she did.
Musubire told mourners that his wife was many things to many people – a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal friend, a caring auntie, but above all, a lover of people.
“Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to embrace others with open arms and a warm heart.” said Musubire as he eulogized his wife. He further said Zalwango was a woman who truly loved people, adding that her compassion extended far beyond her immediate family and friends. “She touched the lives of everyone she met whether through her acts of kindness, genuine smile or words of wisdom. She believed in lifting others up, in finding the good in every situation, and spreading love wherever she went.” Musubire said.
“She left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Her laughter, kindness, love will echo in the lives she touched and the generations she inspired.” Musubire said.
