The 12th Parliament is expected to hold its first sitting on 25th May 2026, with the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker expected to top the agenda.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Government, Lady Justice Aisha Nalule, while addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala yesterday, confirmed that her office had received a petition from six lawyers seeking investigations into the wealth of Speaker Anita Among.
She said the matter would be handled in accordance with established procedures and urged the public to continue reporting suspected cases of opulence and misconduct involving government officials and leaders.
