The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Harriet Ntabazi, has today launched the 5th Edition of the Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2026 at the UMA Show Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala, reaffirming government’s commitment to supporting investors and stakeholders in the construction sector.
The three-day expo, which runs until 8th August 2026, has attracted exhibitors showcasing construction materials, heavy machinery, green building technologies, architectural designs and other advanced innovations. Several government ministers are also expected to participate in the event.
While officiating at the launch, Ntabazi commended the organisers and exhibitors for their continued confidence in Uganda’s construction industry.
The Minister encouraged participants to take advantage of the exhibitions, business forums and networking opportunities to discover new technologies, build partnerships and explore solutions that will promote sustainable, affordable and resilient infrastructure development.
She reaffirmed government’s commitment to achieving the goals of Uganda Vision 2040 through continued investment in infrastructure and creating an enabling environment for investors.
Ntabazi also warned manufacturers against underweight cement packaging, saying companies that label cement as 50 kilograms while supplying less than that will face legal action.
The annual Uganda Buildcon International Expo provides a platform for contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and other players in the construction industry to showcase innovations, exchange knowledge and strengthen business partnerships aimed at improving service delivery in the sector.
