SDA Church launches ‘All Things New’ hope initiative

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda has launched an initiative dubbed “All Things New, Hope Starts Now”, aimed at giving hope to the faithful and the wider public.

The initiative was launched today at Najjanankumbi in Wakiso District during a ceremony led by Pastor Tom Ogal and the President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, Archbishop Samuel Kajjoba.

In his sermon, Pastor Ogal urged Christians, particularly young people, to use mobile phones and other digital devices to spread the gospel and offer comfort to people around the world.

He said technology had been misused by many people, yet mobile phones provide an important opportunity to reach millions with messages of hope and the Word of God.

Archbishop Kajjoba said the initiative was intended to remind people that technology could be used positively to transform lives and restore hope, particularly among young people and women facing difficult circumstances.

He also used the occasion to convey condolences to the people of Tooro Kingdom following the death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died last week and is scheduled to be buried on 12 September 2026.

“As the church, we stand with the people of Tooro Kingdom following the death of their King. We strongly pray for them and ask God to comfort them because only God can understand what they are going through,” Kajjoba said.

He added that the church would continue praying for the kingdom and the person who will succeed the late King, noting that the Seventh-day Adventist Church has a presence in Tooro Kingdom through its churches and pastors.

The launch was also attended by the National Resistance Movement Vice Secretary General, Hon Rose Namayanja, who urged young people to use their phones responsibly and as tools for spreading the gospel.
