Moses Matovu laid to rest in Kyanja

Legendary musician Moses Matovu, one of the pioneers of Afrigo Band, has been laid to rest in Kyanja, following his death earlier this week in Makindye Division, Kampala.

Several dignitaries attended the burial and called on security agencies to ensure that those responsible for Matovu’s death are brought to justice.

Prince Kasim Nakibinge, one of the deceased’s friends, urged mourners to put their trust in God, abandon sin and strengthen their relationship with their Creator.

He reminded mourners that death is inevitable and urged them to prepare themselves spiritually.

“I want to thank you for showing up as we send off our friend. I want to encourage you to always have your focus on God. I therefore urge the security agencies to try whatever it takes to make sure that whoever was involved in Matovu’s death faces the law. At least this time round, let us fulfil our mandate as security agencies,” Nakibinge said.

Earlier this week, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed that a prime suspect in the murder had been arrested and would face the law.
