Police in Matugga and Kasangati, Wakiso district, are searching for the director of Junius Primary School, located in Nansana municipality, Mr Didas Mugisha Nguma, who is accused of assaulting journalists who visited his school to conduct an interview regarding his teachers’ pay. It has been reported that Mr Mugisha has not paid his teachers for several months.

This follows the actions of the head teacher, Mr Asiimwe Gideon, and Mr Ashaba Ahebwa, who went to report the matter to the police. They stated that they had repeatedly demanded their pay, but Mr Mugisha consistently ignored them. When the situation escalated, he responded by expelling most of the teachers.
