Kitara FC sets ticket prices ahead of CAF return leg

Kitara Football Club President Deo Kasozi has today addressed the media in Kampala on the club’s performance in the recently played CAF tournament match in Hoima City, appreciating fans for the overwhelming support they gave the team.

Kasozi thanked the club’s supporters for turning up in large numbers during their recent match against Mogadishu, saying more than 15,000 fans attended the game.

He urged the fans to maintain the same level of support when Kitara plays its second-round match at the same stadium on Saturday.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank our fans for turning up in big numbers last weekend when we were playing against Mogadishu. Over 15,000 fans made it to the stadium, which is a good gesture. We have organised this press conference to brief our fans and everyone regarding the next game, which we shall be playing on Saturday,” Kasozi said.

He said the club had decided to release tickets early to allow fans enough time to prepare for the match.

Kassozi acknowledged that the previous match started later than scheduled but assured supporters that measures had been put in place to ensure the upcoming game starts on time.

Tickets purchased tomorrow between 7:00am and 1:00pm will cost 15,000 shillings, after which ordinary tickets will be sold at 20,000 shillings, while VIP tickets will cost 50,000 shillings.

Kassozi also described Kitara’s opponents as a strong side, noting that they performed well in the previous encounter and even scored before Kitara.

He said Kitara’s main objective is to progress to the next stage of the competition and eventually qualify for the group stages, which would be a first for the club.

“Our goal is to proceed to the next stage and also make it to the group stages. This will be our first time to do that, but we are confident that we are able,” he said.

On government support, Kassozi said the club was grateful for the financial assistance it had received but appealed for increased funding, saying the costs involved in participating in continental competitions are high.

He also cautioned Kitara fans against sharing or posting their QR-code tickets on social media, following reports that some tickets had allegedly been tampered with.

Kasozi explained that because the tickets use QR codes, anyone who obtains and presents a valid code at the stadium before the rightful holder could potentially gain entry.

He therefore urged fans to keep their tickets secure and avoid sharing them with others.
