Following a meeting held in Lusaka, Zambia, Uganda was identified as eligible to host the 4th Digital Government Africa Summit. It is against this background that yesterday, the team from the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U), led by the Executive Director, Dr. Hatib Mugasa, while delivering remarks at the Uganda Media Centre, emphasized that the summit will open up the East African market and beyond.
The 4th Digital Government Africa (DGA) Summit will be held from 6th to 8th October 2026 at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. The summit will focus on accelerating digital transformation, e-government services, and cybersecurity across the continent. It also aims to drive public sector innovation, enhance regional connectivity, and support inclusive, citizen-centric digital governance.
On behalf of Government, the Minister of Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, appreciated NITA-U for its efforts in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure. He assured that government will continue to provide the necessary support where required.
“I thank NITA-U for working hard to strengthen the digital infrastructure of Uganda and beyond. I pledge Government’s commitment to support the upcoming DGA Summit in Munyonyo. I urge members of the media to take this message forward, and we shall be providing further information about the summit,” he said.
