The Office of the President has issued a public warning about fraudsters posing as officials and soliciting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the false promise of securing appointments as Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Deputy Resident District Commissioners, and Assistant Resident District Commissioners.

In a notice released to the general public, the Minister for the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, said the office had received reports of unscrupulous individuals demanding money while claiming they could influence appointments to the positions. She emphasized that these claims are false and intended to mislead the public and damage the reputation of the Office of the President.

Babalanda clarified that all such appointments are made through established government procedures and communicated only through official channels. She stressed that no individual should pay money to secure these positions, warning that anyone doing so risks being defrauded.

The minister further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and ignore any calls or messages requesting payment in exchange for government appointments. She also called on anyone who encounters such incidents to report them immediately to the nearest police station or relevant authorities for investigation.

The Office of the President reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and urged citizens to rely solely on official communication regarding government appointments.
