Meanwhile, It should be remembered that the minister for presidency, Babirye Babalanda, while speaking to the media, recently, at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala, gave reasons why Uganda celebrate Heroes Day, which is taking place on 9th June 2025, at Kaaliro Town Council, Lyantonde district, under the Theme, “The legacy and Ideals of Our Heroes: A memorable Inspiration.” where president Museveni is expected to be the chief guest.

“Why we celebrate the living and the dead heroes, is because Uganda’s rich history is woven with stories of remarkable individuals whose contributions have shaped the nation’s identity and resilience. Why Lyantonde? It’s because of the critical role this new district played during the 1981-86 liberation struggle. Those that did not physically join the war of liberation also sacrificed by contributing financially and morally to the struggle. Notable among them are; Lt Gen. Pecos Kutesa (RIP), Gen. Emmanuel Reashande, among others,” she said.
