As part of his birthday celebrations, Pastor Wilson Bugembe of The Worship House in Nansana Municipality distributed items to widows, single mothers, and other vulnerable members of the community. The initiative, he explained, was a way of thanking God for the gift of life and reflecting on how far he has come.

“I have done this not because I am wealthy, but because I remember where I came from, and God has been so faithful to me. I encourage other churches to follow suit, as the responsibility remains great. I want to thank the members of this church who helped organise this event and the prisons for providing us with posho to distribute to the vulnerable,” Pastor Bugembe said.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture. Naggadya Farida, a resident of Nansana Municipality, said she was overwhelmed by the pastor’s generosity. “I’m so thankful to God for Pastor Wilson. He has done what most people cannot do. Each year, he calls us to receive items, not because he has a lot of money, but because of his giving heart,” she said.

The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Balam Barugahara, who was the chief guest, praised Pastor Bugembe for his compassion and encouraged vulnerable people to remain resilient and participate in government programmes. He pledged one million Ugandan shillings to support the cause and urged attendees to back President Museveni in the 2026 general election.

Balam also joined Pastor Bugembe in urging the public to support the pastor’s upcoming concerts celebrating his 20 years in music. The events will take place today, tomorrow, and Sunday at The Worship House in Nansana, with an additional event at the Serena Hotel.
