The Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, today celebrated his 11th coronation anniversary, attracting congratulatory messages from leaders and citizens across the country.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, joined Ugandans in hailing the milestone, commending the Kyabazinga for championing agriculture, education, and health in the Busoga region. “I take this opportunity to wish His Majesty… a joyous 11th Coronation Anniversary. His Majesty has been a champion of good agriculture, quality education, and improved health, all of which continue to transform the Busoga region,” Tayebwa said.

He praised the monarch for dedicating this year’s coronation to the fight against malaria, noting that the disease remains one of Africa’s deadliest, especially for children under five, and warned that climate change may worsen the challenge.

Women leader Hasfa Kagere from Kampala applauded the king for caring about his subjects, expressing joy over the royal family’s blessing of twins. “I wish to thank the Kyabazinga for the initiatives he has managed to set up with intentions to fight poverty and diseases. I pray that the good Lord continues to keep the royal family safe,” Kagere said.

Other leaders used the occasion to highlight broader national issues. Njumba Samuel, vice chairperson of Irish potato traders in Kampala, thanked government for plans to rehabilitate key road networks, emphasizing that poor infrastructure affects trade. He noted that Uganda still depends on imports from Kenya and Tanzania to meet the rising demand for Irish potatoes.
