In fulfilment of his mandate as Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Church of Uganda, Bishop Enos Kitto Kagodo yesterday ordained several servants of God to the offices of Deacon and Church Elder during a fully attended service in Mukono District.

During the ceremony, believers gathered to witness the ordination of Joseph Kivumbi, Enock Ssegujja, and Patrick Bakabulindi as Deacons, while Rev. Joel Franklin Ssembuusi and Rev. Anthony Kabuura were set apart as Church Elders.

In his address, Bishop Kagodo congratulated the newly ordained servants and encouraged them to always put God first as they carry out their responsibilities. He also used the occasion to urge Christians to elect competent leaders who will advance both the Church and the country.

“Christians, we are in a period of elections. I urge you to vote for leaders who will work hard to ensure that the Church of God and Uganda move forward. Don’t focus on political parties; vote for a person according to their capability,” Bishop Kagodo said.

He also thanked the diocesan secretary, Rev. John Musoke, and all those who contributed to the success of the ceremony.

The Bishop further appealed to parents and guardians to send their children to the diocesan conference starting today, noting that the event will equip young people with knowledge, skills, and good morals.

Speaking on behalf of the ordained, Deacon Joseph Kivumbi expressed gratitude to God and the Church for the honour of serving.

“On behalf of my brothers, I thank God for this opportunity. Now that we are full Deacons, we are ready to serve God in this capacity,” he said.
