Various local leaders in the areas of Nansana have come out to urge Ugandans to refrain from engaging in acts of violence during the election period, noting that such actions have previously led many people to sustain injuries, be imprisoned, and others to lose their lives.
The leaders also called upon Ugandans to engage in productive activities through which they can earn income to support their livelihoods and move forward with their lives.
Hamza Kyeyune, popularly known as Rasta Bag, who is the secretary of an organization that brings together ghetto residents in Nansana, told journalists that Ugandans should return to their daily work and focus on activities that help them earn a living. He added that those who are dissatisfied with the election outcomes should seek justice through the courts rather than engaging in violent acts.
In the same vein, the Chairperson of Kazo Central Two village, Nathan Bogere Pakacha, condemned youths who involve themselves in violent acts while pretending to be politically motivated, yet pursuing personal interests, including causing harm to others.
He urged the youth to avoid engaging in actions that could lead to instability and unrest in the country.
