Following the successful release of the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education results by the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, several schools across the country have held thanksgiving prayers to appreciate God for enabling their learners to pass the examinations.

Speaking to journalists at the school, the headteacher of Kyadondo Secondary School Matuga, Hajji Waligo Ismail, attributed the school’s success to God, the dedication of teachers, and the support of parents.

“I want to thank God for this achievement. We have been able to succeed because our candidates put God first before anything. We glorify Him for this milestone. I also thank our teachers and parents for working tirelessly to ensure that the candidates of 2025 get everything they needed to pass the examinations. We do not take it for granted. All our candidates, over 300, passed very well and some of them scored 20 points. I therefore urge parents to bring us more students, especially those joining Senior Five, so that when they reach Senior Six they can also achieve success like the candidates we are celebrating today,” he said.

Similarly, the headteacher of God’s Way High School Maganjo in Wakiso District, Olivia Suubi, also credited the good performance to God and the hard work of the learners.

“I am overwhelmed by the performance of our learners. Fifteen out of the 100 candidates each scored 20 points, while many others obtained over 10 points. Many of them also performed very well in science subjects. We achieved this because our library is well equipped and our principal, Mr. Kizito Nicks, has done a lot to ensure that everything needed is in place, which has made our work easier,” she said.

Meanwhile, supporters of Yoweri Museveni gathered yesterday at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to congratulate him upon winning a seventh electoral term.

The celebration was organized by the State House Local Content Unit led by Hajat Amina Mukalazi, who thanked God for enabling the President to continue leading Uganda.

In his address, Museveni, who was accompanied by his wife Janet Museveni, appreciated the organizers and pledged to work harder in the new term. The President is expected to be sworn in again in May this year.

“I thank God for this victory and for all the victories He has given us over the last 55 years since 1971. We have been in the struggle for a long time and God has always granted us success. In this new term, I encourage Members of Parliament to support the national budget by prioritizing the livelihoods of our people rather than increasing salaries or creating more districts. Their focus should begin with the Parish Development Model and wealth creation funds,” Museveni said.
