The lead pastor of Christian Life Church in Bwaise, Kampala, Pastor Jackson Senyonga has publicly dismissed claims made by Robert Kayanja, the lead pastor of Miracle Centre Cathedral, regarding an ongoing sodomy case before the Mwanga II Court in Mengo.
Addressing the media at his office in Kampala, Senyonga said his statement was intended to correct what he described as a “deliberate distortion and misrepresentation” of facts and evidence presented before court. He emphasized that contrary to claims by Kayanja, he is not pursuing him in any way.
Senyonga accused Kayanja of using bloggers and sympathisers to spread what he termed as a false narrative linking him to the case. According to him, these efforts have repeatedly attempted to associate his name with Kayanja’s legal challenges, something he firmly denied.
He further referenced recent remarks made by Kayanja while preaching, in which he allegedly mentioned a recording involving a Kingdom Television staff member and Bishop Kiganda. Senyonga stated that Kayanja claimed court had ruled that the contents of the recording never happened and that there were accusations suggesting he had been involved in a killing.
However, Senyonga said he had personally listened to the recording and reviewed a forensic expert report that was presented in court. He asserted that media coverage by Channel 44 misrepresented the actual evidence, accusing the outlet of intentionally distorting facts to mislead the public and divert attention from the real issues before court.
“In conclusion, the report was rendered in court and no amount of spinning will alter the true facts,” Senyonga said. He urged individuals spreading information on platforms such as TikTok and other networks to refer to the official court report.
Senyonga also revealed that he is consulting with his lawyers and considering legal action against bloggers he accuses of damaging his reputation.
He concluded by criticizing attempts to use online platforms to shift focus from court proceedings, stating that such efforts would not change the evidence on record.
